Drilling for Hope: How Turkey Could Help Transform Somalia’s Future
December 15, 2025Massad Boulos, the US Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, strongly condemned the drone attack on a United Nations base in Kadugli, Sudan. The attack reportedly killed six Bangladeshi peacekeepers and wounded many others.
In his statement, Boulos said the United States condemns the attack “in the strongest terms,” stressing that the deliberate targeting of a UN base represents a grave disregard for international efforts to protect peace and security. He emphasized that the warring parties must not target UN personnel.
The US official also called on the parties to the conflict in Sudan to immediately cease hostilities without preconditions and to allow unhindered humanitarian access to those in need.
The attack in Kadugli has once again raised international concerns over the security situation in Sudan and the safety of UN peacekeeping personnel.
