August 26, 2025Mogadishu – Sudan’s General Intelligence Service (GIS) chief, General Ahmed Ibrahim Ali Mofad, has paid an official visit to Somalia’s capital for talks with the federal government leadership, according to diplomatic sources.
The trip featured high-level discussions on security and regional issues and was described by officials as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Sudan and Somalia.
During the visit, General Mofad delivered a special message from Sudanese President Abdel Fattah al-Burhan to Somali President.
Sources familiar with the closed-door talks revealed that discussions also touched on sensitive matters, including alleged UAE support to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with reference to shipments moving through Bosaso, as well as the involvement of Colombian soldiers in related operations.
The visit underscores the growing importance of Sudan-Somalia security coordination amid escalating regional tensions and conflicts.
