In response to escalating tensions in Iran, the Japanese government has begun coordinating the dispatch of Self-Defense Forces (SDF) aircraft to Djibouti in Africa as early as this weekend, where they will remain on standby to assist in the evacuation of Japanese nationals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also coordinating plans to evacuate Japanese citizens currently in Iran and Israel by bus to neighboring countries, possibly starting as early as June 19.
Amid these developments, it has been confirmed that the government is moving forward with plans to deploy SDF aircraft to Djibouti as part of preparations for a potential evacuation of Japanese nationals.
The method and timing of the evacuation will be carefully considered based on how the situation unfolds.
