May 14, 2025MOGADISHU – The Justice and Solidarity Political Party (JSP), a new political alliance bringing together key figures from Somalia’s federal government and regional administrations, was officially launched Tuesday night in the capital.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has been named Chairman of the party and selected as its presidential candidate for the upcoming 2026 elections. The JSP includes senior political leaders from SouthWest, Galmudug, and HirShabelle, signaling a significant realignment ahead of the electoral process.
The party’s formation marks a major step in Somalia’s evolving political landscape, with supporters hailing it as a move toward greater unity and structured leadership.

- Abdiaziz Hassan Laftagareen, President of Southwest State

- Salah Jama, Deputy Prime Minister
