RSF Captures En Nuhud Amid Reports of Mass Executions and Tactical Shift in Sudan Conflict
May 2, 2025Sudan has reportedly filed a case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of violating the Genocide Convention by supplying arms to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the paramilitary group implicated in atrocities across Darfur. During a public hearing on April 10, Sudan is said to have requested provisional measures to halt the UAE’s alleged support. The ICJ is expected to issue a decision on these measures on May 5.
In a significant development, Sudan has also raised alarm over the UAE’s activities in Bosaso, Somalia, and the alleged role of Puntland’s regional administration under Said Abdullahi Deni in facilitating support to the RSF. According to Sudanese sources, Khartoum is seeking additional provisional measures targeting these operations and individuals.
The UAE has reportedly denied all allegations, disputing the ICJ’s jurisdiction and characterizing Sudan’s case as politically motivated. These developments have been shared by Sudanese local media but have not yet been independently verified.
