April 13, 2025ANTALYA – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on the sidelines of the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF). The meeting comes at a time when relations between Turkey and Somalia continue to deepen across multiple sectors.
During the talks, the two leaders discussed strategic cooperation between their countries, covering areas such as security, defense, economic development, and infrastructure investment. President Erdoğan reaffirmed Turkey’s strong support for Somalia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and long-term stability. He emphasized Turkey’s ongoing commitment to peacebuilding, counterterrorism efforts, and development initiatives in Somalia.
President Mahmud expressed his gratitude for Turkey’s unwavering support during difficult times and highlighted the deep-rooted bond of brotherhood between the Somali and Turkish peoples. He stated that Turkey and Somalia are not just friends, but true partners built on mutual interests.
The meeting is expected to pave the way for new steps to further strengthen Turkey-Somalia relations and contribute to regional peace and cooperation in the coming period.
