President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and representatives of religious minority communities at the Presidential Complex during an iftar program.

In his speech at the event, Erdoğan expressed his pleasure in hosting President Mohamud in Turkey and delivered a message of support to the Somali people.

“We Stand by Somalia, Our Support Will Continue”

President Erdoğan emphasized the importance Turkey places on Somalia’s peace, development, and security, reaffirming Turkey’s support for the Somali people. Erdoğan stated, “We hope that Somalia will strengthen its social peace and stability by preserving the achievements it has gained with the support of our country. As a nation that has suffered greatly from all forms of terrorism, we stand by the Somali people.”

Erdoğan also highlighted that Turkey will continue to provide the necessary support for Somalia’s unity and stability, saying, “May God be your helper and protector. I extend my greetings to all the people of Somalia through His Excellency the President and wish you a blessed Ramadan Bayram in advance.”

President Erdoğan’s remarks once again underscored Turkey’s strong and ongoing commitment to supporting Somalia.
