Mogadishu, Somalia – The Ministry of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia has confirmed the successful execution of a joint military operation targeting Khawarij militants in Ceel Baraf village, Middle Shabelle. The operation, conducted in collaboration with the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), inflicted significant losses on the terrorist group.

According to the Ministry, a precision airstrike was meticulously planned and executed, resulting in the neutralization of multiple Al-Shabaab operatives. The strike also destroyed vehicles carrying explosives intended for attacks against civilians and security forces. Officials emphasized that no civilian casualties occurred during the mission.

The operation is part of a broader effort to eradicate terrorist threats and strengthen national security. The Somali National Army (SNA), with the continued support of international partners, remains committed to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and protecting its citizens from extremist groups.

The Ministry of Defence reiterated its determination to sustain counterterrorism operations until peace and stability are fully restored across Somalia.
