February 25, 2025Addis Ababa– The relationship between Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party (PP) and Türkiye’s governing Justice and Development Party (AK Party) continues to grow stronger, according to Adem Farah, head of the Democracy System Building Coordination Center, who also holds the rank of Deputy Prime Minister and Vice President of the PP.
Adem Farah attended the 8th Grand Congress of the AK Party, where he delivered a keynote address.
During his speech, he highlighted that both political parties have made progress in implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last month, which aims to enhance collaboration.
Ethiopia and Türkiye share a long history of diplomatic ties, and according to the PP Vice President, the partnership has fostered significant cooperation at both governmental and societal levels. “Through strengthened relations and agreements between our parties, we have created a favorable framework to advance economic, social, and diplomatic engagements,” he remarked.
On his social media page, he reaffirmed that the established ties will continue to boost collaboration in investment, trade, tourism, education, technology, and discussions on regional and global matters.
During the congress, Adem Farah also extended his congratulations to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election as the party’s leader, along with other officials who secured positions in the party leadership.
