February 16, 2025ANKARA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a congratulatory message for Djibouti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, who was elected as the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission during the 38th Assembly of the AU, as well as for the new members of the AU Commission.
The Ministry released a written statement regarding the elections held during the 38th Assembly of the AU.
In the statement, Youssouf, who was elected as the Chairperson of the AU Commission, and the new members of the AU Commission were congratulated.
The statement emphasized that Turkey, as a strategic partner of the AU, will continue to work closely with the organization and contribute to the realization of Africa’s 2063 Agenda in the coming period. It also stated, “On this occasion, we extend our gratitude to outgoing Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat for his contributions to strengthening the Turkey-AU partnership.”
