Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burhanettin Duran held a key meeting with Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timotheos in Addis Ababa, as part of Türkiye’s proactive diplomatic efforts ahead of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s upcoming visits to Somalia and Ethiopia.

The discussions focused on the preparations for the Technical Talks between Ethiopia and Somalia, which are set to take place under the framework of the Ankara Declaration. The declaration, brokered by Türkiye, aims to foster dialogue and cooperation between the two nations. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the implementation of the agreement and explored ways to strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation.
