February 3, 2025Today, Somalia’s Minister of Defence Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur welcomed Ambassador James Swan, the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General, at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Mogadishu. During the meeting, they discussed ongoing operations against the terrorist group Al-Shabaab and emphasized the critical role of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AUSOM) in the country’s peace and security efforts.
Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur highlighted the significant contributions of Somalia’s international partners in strengthening the capabilities of the Somali National Armed Forces, enabling them to more effectively combat threats and enhance national security.
