Chief of General Staff General Metin GÜRAK, who is on an official visit to Somalia, was welcomed with a military ceremony by Somali Chief of General Staff Major General Odawa Yusuf RAGE. Bilateral and delegation-level meetings were held during the visit, focusing on defense and security cooperation between the two countries.

General GÜRAK also met with Somali Prime Minister Mr. Hamza Abdi BARRE and Defense Minister Mr. Abdulkadir Mohamed NUR to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.

As part of his program, General GÜRAK visited the Somali Turkish Task Force Command and the Somali Maritime Task Group Command, where he conducted inspections and reviews. He also addressed the Turkish Armed Forces personnel stationed in the region, expressing his gratitude for their outstanding service.
