February 1, 2025Addis Ababa, – Ilyas Moussa Dawale, Secretary General of Djibouti’s ruling People’s Rally for Progress Party (RPP), praised Ethiopia’s transformative progress and leadership under the Prosperity Party during his address at the 2nd Congress of the Prosperity Party. Speaking at the Adwa Victory Memorial, a symbol of resilience, unity, and victory, Dawale highlighted Ethiopia’s remarkable achievements in agriculture, infrastructure, and peacebuilding.
“Under the Prosperity Party’s leadership, Ethiopia has rapidly emerged as a model of self-sufficiency in agriculture, achieving significant strides in food security and economic resilience in just a few years. This is visionary leadership in action,” Dawale stated.
He commended Ethiopia’s efforts to modernize Addis Ababa, noting the city’s stunning infrastructure and urban development. “We witness the stunning modernization of Addis Ababa, a revolution in infrastructure as well as in urban development,” he said.
Dawale also lauded the Ethiopian government’s commitment to resolving conflicts peacefully, particularly in the Tigray region. “Your unwavering commitment to peace, reconciliation, and national unity has restored hope and strengthened the foundation of a stable and prosperous Ethiopia,” he added.
The Secretary General welcomed the restoration of fraternal relations between Ethiopia and Somalia, emphasizing the importance of regional unity. He conveyed a message from the Djiboutian government, stressing the power of togetherness in addressing shared challenges.
“In this challenging Horn of Africa region, we face terrorism, security threats, climate change, environmental shocks, and unpredictable global geopolitics. These challenges demand unity, resilience, and deeper cooperation. Together, we strengthen our resilience and ensure regional stability and prosperity. And together, we rise,” Dawale emphasized.
He described Ethiopia as a regional pillar, a guardian of stability, and a champion of economic integration. “A peaceful, integrated, and economically strong Horn of Africa is not just a dream; it’s a necessity. Ethiopia has always been a regional pillar, and we consider it a regional and global public good,” he said.
Dawale called on Ethiopia to continue leading efforts for regional peace, stability, and economic transformation. “Ethiopia’s stability, prosperity, and unity matter not only for Ethiopians but for all of us in this region,” he underscored.
Concluding his speech, Dawale urged collective action, stating, “As we stand at a defining moment for our region, we must act together as one family with a shared and intertwined destiny.”
